Joint CZ-PL experimental campaign on comparison of wire-guided and stirrer cell liquid sample delivery systems

December 12 - 16, 2023

In December 2022 we had a joint Bilateral experimental campaign at ELI Beamlines. The campaign aimed at exchange of knowledge on construction and operation of the liquid sample delivery systems, as a lot of progress was achieved on both cooperation sides. The Polish collaboration member (R. Fanselow) brought his stirrer cell liquid sample delivery system that was used in a series of experiments at the recently upgraded ELI X-ray spectroscopy end station. On the ELI side, Dr. Precek and Mr. Kahan demonstrated the newest version of the wire-guided jet liquid sample delivery system adapted for the use in the vom Hamos end station (see Fig. on the left). In the course of the experiment, Fe-based liquidswith different oxydation state and Zn quantum dots (courtecy of Mr. Fanselow) were tested in both liquid sample delivery systems, data analysis is ongoing. The experimental campaign went very smoothly, project partners gained experience in running the systems and integrating them into the ELI end station.
