Planned changes and upgrades around ELI X-ray spectroscopy end station
-
Cu-tape plasma X-ray source delivery, installation and commissioning is planned for 8-19.03.2021.
-
Active beam stabilization system is planned to be installed in the beam transport in front of the X-ray hutch for W16 2021 (19-23.04). Installation depends on the fact of delivery of the system by the contracted supplier. Active beam stabilization is required for online correction for the spatial drift of the laser that drives plasma X-ray sources.
-
Water-jet plasma X-ray source experimental run with upgraded L1 Allegra laser is planned for 26-30.04.2021.
-
A second customized Andor CCD camera has been tendered and delivered. This will allow to upgrade the end station for parallel XAS and XES experiments.
-
Design and contruction of a modular system for von Hamos focusing crystals holder will be started soon. This will allow to gradually increase the amount of focusing crystals used in one experiment enhansing statistics collection efficiency and sensitivity of the setup.

Within Visegrad, the parental project of CELIXS, the second meeting "Optical spectroscopy measurements" will be held remotely, due to the COVID restrictions. Visegrad grant agency kindly allowed to redirect meeting budget to an upgrade of the detection system at the Optical spectroscopy station in BioLab, ELI Beamlines. The upgrade will allow to gather data in optical and NIR to IR spectral range simultaneously.
Cu-tape plasma X-ray source delivery highly depends on the local COVID measures and restrictions of the producer and recipient sites. E.g., new stricter COVID measures in Czech Republic may cause a delay in the project.
